In the Blink of an Eye, Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming the Way We Conduct Business

Written by David Toth | Oct 10, 2023

Last week, our MPB | Leadership Accelerated community got to hear from Peter J Scavuzzo, Chief Information and Digital Officer from Marcum on how the accounting profession and Marcum are embracing AI.

He discussed the shift from the age of information to the age of intelligence, notably the increasing influence of #GenAI in our daily activities. One of his key takeaways - don't worry about building the technology rather focus on preparing your organization for adoption.

The Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) also held their virtual conference #Emerge where they too emphasized the impact #AI is going to have on the profession from a growth and operational perspective. Fast forward, and customer behavior is now pivoting from clicks to conversations digitally.

Historically, website visitors had to explore a company's website, filtering and sorting through pages to find relevant information on their products or services. Jump to 2023, and cue ChatGPT, Claude, Bard and so on... Now, customers can pinpoint exactly what they need from a straightforward chatbot, using natural language for easy conversation.

HubSpot Research says that 55% of businesses predict by 2024 that most people will turn to chatbots over search engines for answers.

It's time to step up your content game so that when you launch your website chatbot, it has rich, quality and contextual information supporting your visitor's experience and needs. Buying content from 3rd party sources will not win the game...

It's time to experiment with chatbots and ask it questions, try researching flights or AI / social media policies. Ask it to analyze a competitor's website. The more you use it, the more you can understand how it will be impacting your firm going forward.

At Tri-Merit Bridging the Gap conference last month, one firm talked about using chatbots for HR and employee onboarding - taking their employee handbook and allowing staff to ask it questions based on the firm's policy freeing up precious time.

What is your firm doing to explore AI and the chatbot revolution?
